Carlo Catalano, MD received his degree in medicine (summa cum laude) from the University of Rome, "La Sapienza," in 1990 and completed his residency at the University of L'Aquila (summa cum laude) in 1994. After a period of clinical activity at the Departments of Radiology and Emergency of Policlinico Umberto I, Rome, Dr. Catalano became Assistant Professor in Radiology at La Sapienza and an Assistant Professor at the University Campus Biomedico of Rome.

In 2002, Dr. Catalano was named Associate Professor in Radiology at the University Campus Biomedico of Rome. He is Chief of Cardiovascular and Body CT and MR at La Sapienza, Policlinico Umberto I. He also serves as Professor of Radiology for several residency programs, including radiology, medical oncology, cardiac surgery, cardiology, abdominal surgery, and internal medicine programs.

Dr. Catalano has presented more than 150 invited lectures at national and international conferences, and is the author or co-author of more than 225 publications, including 66 articles in national journals, 105 in international journals, 50 book chapters, and 6 books.
